In case of severe weather
At Edinburgh we will always try to open when we can even if it snows. However this depends on how severe the weather is and whether we can ensure the site is safe for children. Many of our staff travel long distances to work so transport conditions will also have an effect. If we do have to close we will put a message on the website as soon as a decision is made and will text parents via Groupcall as close to 7.30am as possible.
Please be aware that if the Reception building were inaccessible we may have to partially close the school. This might mean we would be open for Year 1-6 and closed for Year R.
Edinburgh Primary aims to provide a quality education for every pupil every day of the school academic year. However, there are occasions where we may have to close. Such situations include adverse weather conditions. In the event of a school closure, we will notify parents and carers as soon as we know.
If you suspect the school may be closed you can do the following:
1. Check our school website. If the school is closed, a message will be displayed on our website.
2. Call our dedicated 'open check' phone line. You will be asked for our unique 7 digit code. For our school this is 320-2030.
To check the school's open status, please call 020 8408 7508 entering 320 2030 when prompted. PLEASE ONLY USE THIS NUMBER TO CHECK THE SCHOOL'S OPEN STATUS. For all other enquiries, please contact the school office on 020 8509 6180.
