Provision of halal meat.
For many years the meat used in school meals at Edinburgh Primary provided by Waltham Forest catering has been halal. It is our caterer’s policy to use halal meat from animals that have been stunned prior to slaughter. Meat supplied to our caterer is certified to this effect by the Halal Food Authority (HFA), or equivalent depending on country of origin. Our school meal menus are designed to offer meal choices to a wide range of communities and faiths, including the Muslim faith, and there are always vegetarian alternatives to choose from. Parents requiring further information can contact Waltham Forest Catering by phoning Waltham Forest Direct on 0208 496 3000.
